Sunlight streamed through the open window in front of her as Haleigha sat with her back to the door. One of the ancient text was opened on the desk in the private quarters Lord DeVries had provided. It seemed like hours had past with her reading through the book in hopes of finding something that would give them answers.

She sighed as she leaned back, feeling the tension pull at her muscles. Her neck and back were stiff and her eyes were beginning to burn. So far she hadn't found anything useful. She was beginning to wonder if there was actually anything to find or if her mind was just too preoccupied to concentrate enough to see what was right in front of her.

(Else Where)

A chill ran through her as she walked through the cold stone corridors. The sound of her boots fell in rhythm with the soft steps of the servant who was showing her the way. It was strange. She could feel her without even trying. She wondered if Haleigha could feel her the same way.

They stopped as they came to a heavy wooden door. Aly smiled as she stopped the servant from knocking. "I'd like to... surprise her if that's okay," she said quietly.

The servant gave a curtsy and backed away. "If there's anything you need, I won't be far," the young girl said.

"Thank you," Aly said. She waited for the girl to leave before facing the door. She drew in a deep breath and bit her lip.

Inside the quarters, Haleigha stood and moved to look out the window. Smiling, she leaned against the windowsill and closed her eyes. The tension was already fading as the door slowly opened and soft foot steps sounded on the stone floor. A set of arms wrapped around her from behind causing a chill to run through her.

"I was wondering when you would break away and come see me," she said, leaning her head back to rest on Aly's shoulder. Lowering her voice, "I was worried about you but I knew you were okay."

Aly gently kissed Haleigha's cheek and hugged her tightly from behind. "I wasn't imagining it," she whispered. "You feel it too?"

"I wasn't sure at first," Haleigha said, reaching up to touch Aly's face with her fingertips. "But, yes, I can feel you even when you aren't right here with me." She smiled as she placed her arms over Aly's. "It's the only reason I didn't go completely insane while you were missing."

Aly leaned her head against Haleigha's. "I think we have a lot to talk about," she said softly.

Haleigha slowly turned around, keeping Aly's arms around her. She cupped Aly's face in her hands and smiled. "We can talk later," she said. She leaned her head forward to touch her forehead against Aly's. 'I'm glad you're safe and... I love you.'

Aly smiled. 'I love you... Imzadi.'
